Heirloom Jewellery Remodelling

Sapphire and Diamond wedding ring set, about to be given a new lease on life
Remodelling starts with your story. The most meaningful heirlooms are the ones you wear.
The most meaningful heirloom is one you wear. If a ring won’t fit, the seeting are overbearing or they catch on everything, or in a style that really isn't you so it never leaves the jewellery box. A thoughtful redesign can bring it back into being worn daily and loved even more.
Many of our clients have shared beautiful stories of the pieces they have inherited. A piece from their parent or grandparents. Sometimes those pieces are broken or beyond restoration and repair. And then some pieces show incredible craftmanship that is undeniably of its time. Most pieces treasured but sadly, never worn.
Heirloom jewellery remodeling has taught us something important: the transformation doesn’t erase the meaning; it refreshes and extends those sentimental feelings. Remodelling your heirloom jewellery should always be done with intention. Remodeling reuses the original precious metals, add back any gemstones that have meaning to you to create a design that suits your style.
The best place to start is at the beginning with remodeling heirloom jewellery.
Each project begins with a design consultation to establish your requirements, aesthetic preferences, budget considerations, and material options. Before altering anything, we need to evaluated what your heirloom jewels are. Some pieces hold historical or collector value that can’t be recovered once changed. Understanding the provenance is part of honouring the story. Many of our projects are in the $1500 - $6000 range. Costs do vary and are dependent on what the scope of your design project is.
Decide what truly matters to you.
What does the heirloom remodeling need to achieve? Does your new design need to be a ring, pendant or bracelet or something else. If there are gemstones which ones do we need to incorporate in the new design?
Being clear on what carries the emotional weight helps guide us in what we need to do.
We will create design concepts that will form the bases of bringing your ideas together, These will be developed and refined prior to manufacture, with attention given to proportions, wearability, setting style, and stone security.
Heirloom jewellery doesn’t need to be locked away to be respected. Sometimes, allowing a piece to change is exactly what keeps its story alive.
Preserve it, reshape it, and reimagine it. Making ensure you understand what you’re changing, and why. When done with care, a remodeled heirloom doesn’t feel like a new piece at all.

Remodelling, re-using, and recycling your existing jewellery has many advantages in the design process
Working with you has four main steps when you approve our services in remodelling your heirloom jewellery.
Step 1 - Let's schedule a meeting to discuss your inspiration and what outcomes you're wanting to achieve for your remodel/design project. Depending on what your design requires we can discuss how we can meet those outcomes and how to reuse your existing pieces or, offset the costs in the process of remodeling your heirloom jewellery.
From there we will create and share with you a couple of concept drawings that encapsulate what we have discussed and a quote for your design project. We will seek your input, apply any changes during this step. Before moving on to the next step we will provide our quote to complete your bespoke jewel. Your quotes will be valid for 3 days.
Step 2 - Once we have understood your needs and concerns, and before moving on to the next step, we will develop your chosen concept and again seek your input and confirm the details prior to committing the design to either handmade or CAD production, gemstone sourcing, etc. We will also be able to confirm the timeframe involved once all elements are known. We can accommodate urgent work and will quote this separately.
At this stage we will prepare our invoice and request a 30% deposit be paid.
Your quote will be valid for 3 days. For more information please see our Terms of Trade.
Step 3 - During the manufacturing of your design we will keep you informed of its progress, moving from manufacturing to Setting and/or valuation. If an independent valuation has been requested, we will prepare your jewellery for its appraisal, then personally manage the appraisal for you. (As at 3 April 2026, Valuers are working with extreme volumes, due to the current global events that have affected precious metals, which may mean 4-6 week for the appraisal to be completed).
Step 4 - Once your bespoke jewel is ready for collection, we will prepare our final invoice. Once remit has been received, you are welcome to collect your new jewel. You are also welcome to make payment by eftpos at the studio.
