Service Description

Enroll in our essentials jewellery course that introduces and guides you in essential techniques and hands-on experience. We can't wait to see you in the workshop being creative; there's always something new to learn. How long is the course? Held on Tuesday evenings, your course runs for 5 weeks. Each session is 3.5 hours at the bench. Who are these workshops for? The Beginners Essentials Workshop is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike. Its the perfect opportunity for hobbyists or craft makers looking to channel their creativity into designing and making their own jewellery designs. This workshop is held in our New Lynn, Auckland studio. What will I learn? This course provides an introduction to the jewellers workshop and fundamental hand making skills. From the first night we'll settle you in after our "New HandS in the Workshop" induction regarding the use of the workshop and head straight into making at the bench. Your Tutor will help you work confidently with a wide selection of tools and a variety of manufacturing techniques like piercing, filing, annealing, soldering, texturing and polishing. What do I need to bring each week? Bring a fabric bib-apron and any pictures that you like or are inspired by. What does my course fee include? All materials needed to make 2 Sterling Silver projects - the Iconic ring and a pendant. We also stop & enjoy a compulsory break at 7.30pm, because we all need a break and it's the perfect opportunity to get to know you better. Tea & coffee provided. What's next? Once you have completed the Beginners Essentials Workshop you can continue learning to make jewellery by joining our Jewellery Making Courses on a Wednesday, to expand your skills into design & fabrication. A little about the 925 Sterling Silver we use: We are supplied by the two leading foundries in NZ. Minturn Jewellery Ltd has proudly worked with both companies for 2 generations. Both foundries recycle & assay their fabricated precious metals for complete confidence. Please note: As we continuously monitor the costs of precious metals and materials, our fees may change to reflect these external pressures. Currently, these commodities have increased significantly. Despite this, we remain committed to offering you exceptional value and experiences in our workshop, as this is what matters most to us. Thank you so much for your support.
